Jumbo bags, also known as FIBC’s or flexible intermediate bulk containers. The big bags are made of polypropylene (plastic), which is woven into a durable product.
These bags are very sturdy and have lift straps attached to the top of the bag. This allows bags to be handled and moved during loading as they can be picked up using standard forklift forks and some bags offer the ability to empty the contents from the bottom of the bag.
Other ton bags can be emptied using specific equipment. Jumbo bags typically weigh 2,000 to 3,000 pounds per bag, and the actual weight of each bag is usually four to five times the posted capacity.
